Perhaps Independent Feature Project (IFP) annual Independent Film Week inspired him, or perhaps it is just a bizarre coincidence. In any event, while watching Ustreams of Indie pundits wax poetic about the sky falling, or where new revenue streams will flow to sustain the future of independent film, Pushin' Up Daisies' writer/director Patrick Franklin saw fit to send an update on his Kickstarter Campaign.
What better day to send it out, as the topic of Monday is "Do or DIY: Distribution and Marketing?"
Right. On. Cue.
Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for your support thus far in our Kickstarter campaign. We've done extremely well, having raised $3, 258 of the $4,000 we need to make our goal. We're moving right along, but those last few dollars are always the hardest. Keep spreading the word and encourage all your friends to visit the Kickstarter page.
We have two remaining screenings before our deadline: the SoCal Film Festival and the Modern Film Fest (for which the screening time is now official). Information below. I'm actually going to be able to attend both of these screenings so I hope maybe I get to see some folks come out, perhaps some old friends, maybe new friends, maybe friends of friends.

Got another email from Patrick today:
As of today, we have officially reached and surpassed our "Pushin' Up Daisies" Kickstarter goal. This means that our project will be funded on Oct. 10 and we can then start making the DVD's and putting together the weird stuff we promised people.
Thanks a bunch to everyone who contributed and helped spread the word. We shall forever be grateful for your kindness and your efforts.
That said, just because we reached our goal, don't hesitate to keep telling people about the project. We can still keep up the DVD pre-sale. The more we get out there the better.
Congratulations. Keep Kickin'!
