Morning Newsdome: A world with less Rand Paul and Christine O'Donnell on TV is a better world

Rand Paul, afraid of the Internet
>> Politico reports that Tea Party candidates have gone into a hiding, avoiding public appearances and non-Fox TV spots, out of fear that their actions will be disseminated on the Internet. YouTube killed the Tea Party star. (Politico)

>> Something to be proud of: Senior U.S. District Judge Jack T. Camp Jr., former chief judge of the U.S. District Court in Atlanta, was arrested in the parking lot of the Velvet Room for buying coke, weed and painkillers from a stripper. The Reagan appointee was known for being a harsh sentencer. I can't wait to see how he fares in the war on drugs. (the AJC)

>> Is she-isn't she lesbian Justice Elena Kagan had her first day on the Supreme Court bench yesterday. Sounds socialisty. (CNN)

>> Two men have been arrested after assaulting a patron at the Stonewall Inn, the "ground zero" for gay civil rights in New York, for being gay. This comes the same weekend as another gay couple were attacked in Chelsea for hugging his boyfriend goodbye. Do these people not know where they are?! (the New York Post)

>> And finally: French finance trader Jérôme Kerviel was ordered to pay back $6.7 billion, the entire amount the bank Société Générale spent unwinding his trades that nearly brought down the institution, in a "symbolic" gesture since the government knows he can't pay it all back. However, the French populist have lifted him up as a kind of folk hero, stealing from the rich and giving to the poor making the rich richer. Of course France's Bernie Madoff is so much sexier. New York Times)
