Lee Walton’s ongoing performance art project "Momentary Performances" finishes its run this week. A kind-of sidewalk theater, "Momentary Performances" installs vinyl text in public spaces describing a scene taking place in its vicinity. It's a little like those Orbitz commercials.

Speaking of learnin' things, newbie arts group C4, whose mission is "to build a foundation of research, technology and education for a sustainable, creative economy in the Atlanta region," is making an effort to offer all kinds of conversation/research/resources to artists and arts orgs, including its monthly lunchtime discussion Tech smARTs; financial planning for artists and the in-progress Entrepreneurship in the Arts seminar, which comes with a $200 price tag, but also a chance for five artists to score spots for half-price through an artist grant from Possible Futures.
The Atlanta Opera's also getting a bit of a financial boost, but from an anonymous donor to the tune of $112,000. The donation will help launch the Heart of the Opera campaign, a fundraising effort to raise $112,000 in 112 days. All that moolah will support AO productions and outreach initiatives during the 2010-2011 season. And don't forget about the 24-Hour Opera Project Nov. 6-7.
