A free in-studio preview this Thursday evening will offer a look at the creation of Core Performance Company's new show “Corazón Abriendo,” which will have its world premiere in mid-November at the Balzer Theater downtown. The salon-style talk and performance will give a behind-the-scenes look at the process of conceiving and realizing a full length dance performance... and there's also the chance to win a pair of free tickets to the show itself.

The performance “Corazón Abriendo” will incorporate elements and experiences of the company's visits to Chiapas, Mexico and Guatemala, examining the conflicts and commonalities between ancient civilizations and modern life. It's a multimedia show, using story-telling, visuals, an interactive set, and—perhaps best of all—live music.

Core Performance Company will give a free preview of “Corazón Abriendo” on Thursday, October 28, from 6-7:30 pm at its studio at 519 North McDonough Street in Decatur on the square. Another preview will take place in the same place as part of the company's free “Lunchtime in the Studio” series on Thursday, November 11, at noon. The company performs “Corazón Abriendo” at the Balzer Theater in downtown Atlanta Nov. 19-20. For more information on any of these events, visit CORE Performance Company.
