>> Republicans captured control of the House of Representatives in yesterday's midterm election and gained more seats in the Senate, though Democrats still have a majority. The addition of at least 60 seats for Republicans is the largest sweep of the House since 1948. I'm crawling under my covers and not leaving the house until the next election. (the NY Times)

>> Some good news: Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada beat crazy Tea Party lady Sharron Angle, and Tea Party witchdoctor Christine O'Donnell of Delaware lost to Democrat Chris Coons. Goodbye Sharron and Christine, see you in Hell. (Las Vegas Sun, WDEL)

>> Furthermore, California Republican gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman conceded to Democrat Jerry Brown after spending a record $142 million of her own money on her campaign. Lets dream of all the ways $142 million could have been spent instead of boosting one's ego. A personal island, perhaps? (Christian Science Monitor)

>> The recreational marijuana legalization measure was rejected by California voters yesterday, just when they could have used something to take the edge off. Supporters still sparked up outside their headquarters anyway. That's solidarity, man. (the NY Times)

>> And finally: Remember back in 2005 when Kanye West said "George Bush doesn't care about black people" during a Hurricane Katrina telethon? That was awesome, way better than the Taylor Swift incident. Anyway, George W. Bush has cited that moment as the worst of his presidency. Not the suffering of those affected by the hurricane, not the war in Iraq, not instating laws that got us into a financial crisis. No, Kanye West will forever go down in the history books. (
