ATL Comic Profile: Ashima Frankiln

Posted By on Mon, Nov 15, 2010 at 1:31 PM

Whether Ashima "SkinniFyne" Franklin is on stage riffing about baby-daddy drama, or in the aisles working the audience with incredibly invasive sexual questions, she brings some of the realest, rawest comedy to Atlanta. Never afraid to say exactly whats on her mind, Franklin's femenine candor has made the Mobile, Alabama native a crowd favorite at venues all over Atlanta. Having just landed her first role in an upcoming independent film, Franklin's star should only continue to burn brighter from the city's stages.

ATLien since: 2005

Comedienne since: 2006

A lil' joke: "To all you independent women out there who buy your own houses and your own cars... I would just like to say... 'Please stop messing things up for me.' I do not want to be independent, I want to live like the old days, I want a man to take care of me. How am I going to watch Maury and Jerry Springer three times a day if I'm at work all damn day?!"

Upcoming performances:
Pearl Bistro & Bar, 255 Tapas -Wednesday nights
Taboo 2, Throwbacks - Thursday nights
