UPDATE — City settles with Eagle Raid victims

A 2009 Eagle Raid protest
Attorney Dan Grossman, one of several representing the plaintiffs in a federal lawsuit against the city for the 2009 raid of the Atlanta Eagle, has confirmed that the parties have reached a settlement.

Grossman was unable to comment on the settlement pending approval by City Council, but, in paraphrasing the judge's order, said that the settlement is monetary and will also also involve reform of the Atlanta Police Department.

UPDATE: A terse statement regarding the settlement says the following ...

Settlement Conference held on 12/3/2010. The parties have reached an agreement to settle this case, which they believe is in the best interest of the City, its residents, and visitors. This agreement includes monetary compensation and reforms of the Atlanta Police Department. Until this agreement is approved by the Atlanta City Council and by the District Court, the parties and counsel shall not make further comment to the media about this case.
