Bobby Baker to join law firm after PSC term

Posted By on Thu, Dec 9, 2010 at 8:40 AM

Bobby Baker, the Public Service Commission's most consumer-friendly member, will join Atlanta law firm Freeman Mathis & Gary when he steps down from the regulatory agency in January.

The Athens Republican — who practiced law prior to his election in 1992 — opted not to seek another term at the state agency that helps determine how much you pay to turn on your lights and heat up your oven.

Baker, who was a Republican before it was the cool thing to do, will specialize in energy and technology issues.
