Morning Newsdome: Maryland could be the next state to pass same-sex marriage

>> Maryland may be the next state to pass a same-sex marriage bill in the next legislative session after their state senate gained two Democrat seats. Maryland would join five other states and Washington, D.C., in allowing gay marriage. Beautiful Baltimore, here we come! (CNN)

>> President Obama spoke at the University of Arizona last night at a memorial service for Saturday's shooting, choosing to honor those slain rather than speak about the shooter Jared Lee Loughtner. He called for a shift toward civil discourse, not to silence his opponents but to honor those killed or wounded. Everyone can agree on that, right? I guess not everyone. (the New York Times, Salon)

>> Daniel Hernandez, a University of Arizona student and intern to Congresswoman Gabrielle Gifford, had only worked for Gifford less than a week when the shooting occurred. He was the first to rush to Gifford's aid and was called a hero at yesterday's memorial service. And he was unpaid. (Politico)

>> Meanwhile, psycho Westboro Baptist Church have decided not to picket the funeral of 9-year-old Christina Taylor Green after she was shot and killed in the Arizona massacre. No, they didn't finally realize that they are pure evil, just that Arizona expedited a new law forbidding demonstrations within 300 feet of a funeral. (AP)

>> And finally, you thought Snowmageddon was bad: After a month's normal of rainfall fell in just 24 hours, mudslides hit the Serrana region of Brazil, killing more than 350 people. Be thankful all we're dealing with is driving on ice. (MSNBC)
