Groundhog Day the 13th and other (better) Movie Trailer Spoofs

Hoping for a lovely Groundhog Day treat, I happened upon this spoof trailer for the film Groundhog Day, reframing it as a horror film:

Great idea.

But the result is an epic fail.

In fact, the result blows.

To clean the palate, and in the true spirit of Groundhog Day, to set things right, I watched the masterpiece that is, Shining. (After the jump)

This led to the discovery (late to the party, I know...) of a brilliant series of movie homages called "Premakes." Trailers that re-imagine popular modern films set in an earlier era, these montages re-contextualize vintage film clips that both reflect the era and show a keen understanding of the films they seek to reconstruct.

The result is marvelous—and a delight for any movie fan.
