SCAD brings Marina Abramovic to deFINE ART

deFINE ART, an arts festival started by SCAD in 2009, returns with an impressive lineup of artists, critics, and curators later this month. The festival splits events between Savannah and Atlanta, which means that Atlantans will have to make quite a drive if they want to see the installations and exhibitions being launched for the festival in Savannah, including works by Andy Goldsworthy and Yoko Ono. This year's festival honors the achievements of Marina Abramovic, whom the organizers have thankfully scheduled for keynote lectures in both Atlanta and Savannah. Few living artists can command the sort of fascination and following that Abramovic has achieved. One can expect that her lecture will reflect upon The Artist is Present, her exhibition at MoMA last year, among other things.

Met curator Gary Tinterow, DJ Spooky, and others round out the line-up from Feb. 22 to 26. SCAD has more information and we have the full schedule after the jump.
