This Saturday night, Old Fourth Ward's favesies lowbrow art den, MINT Gallery, is hosting an opening reception for Coeducation, an exhibition of new work by couple Chelsea Raflo and Chris Hamersly.
In our typically impatient style, CL crashed the party early to sneak some preview pictures. (Spoiler alert: it's all pretty dope.)
The artists describe the creation process as
"a study in cooperation and collaboration as well as the simplicity of coexistence. Through working together, we found ourselves learning from each other, either through direct communication or just by way of... proximity and observation."(We suspect they omitted the requisite screaming, paintbrush throwing and oh-em-gee-I-can't-stand-looking-at-your-face moments that must come with living and working together...but we like their rose-tinted take. So let's just roll with that.)
Bee-tea-dubs: If you haven't checked out MINT's new BeltLine-side digs, this would be the night to get on it. Raflo and Hamersly (who totally sound like they should have beards and compose movie scores) and their intimate collection fit the snuggly new space perfectly.
Coeducation: New Work by Chelsea Raflo and Chris Hamersley. Sat., Feb. 12, 7 p.m. - 11 p.m. MINT Gallery. 145-B Sampson Street.
