Will 'Rubber' be the most random film of 2011?

Rubber looks like one of those parodies of non-existent grindhouse movies, but its preposterous commercial nevertheless promotes an actual feature film that premiered at last year's Cannes Film Festival. Already available on demand and due for national release on April 1 (unless it's some kind of trick), Rubber depicts a murderous tire that goes on a killing spree across the American Southwest. Written and directed by French house musician Quentin Dupieux (also known as "Mr. Oizo"), Rubber conveys a sensibility that looks more like the 1984 cult classic Repo Man than your average gross-out horror spoof. If the rest of the film lives up to its hilarious prologue ("All great films without exception contain an element of no reason"), it should be a must-see:
