Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to fill Savannah's streets and bars today to celebrate the patron saint of inebriation who single-handedly helped Ireland plunge into an economic crisis eradicated a whole bunch of snakes from the island country.

Thanks to the Savannah Morning News, you can watch tourists and champion drinkers celebrate his life. (Folks have been boozing since 7 a.m.) The paper has links to several webcams documenting the debauchery. Above is a grainy shot of River Street, the bar-filled boardwalk paved with cobblestones and littered with informative markers about Savannah's history! Also: Paula Deen's restaurant! You can literally see the butter pouring out the front door. The parade can be viewed live here.

Open up a tab while you work and check back every once in a while to see who's picked a fight.

And oh yes, don't forget our list of St. Patrick's Day events here in Atlanta. We now return to writing about the city's unfunded pension liability.
