Lend your ladder to Charlie Brouwer

The seal of Atlanta reads "Resurgens," which you probably know is latin for "rising again." Perhaps that's what Virginia-based artist Charlie Brouwer has in mind for his upcoming installation in Freedom Park, Rise Up Atlanta. "The sculpture will be made from ladders borrowed from across the Atlanta community. Each ladder will represent the hopes and dreams of the lenders: individuals, families, businesses, schools, and community groups and organizations," reads the press release from Flux Projects, who is co-sponsoring the work. Maybe he also has people like myself in mind, whose dream is to finally remember to buy a ladder so I can change the damn light bulb in the kitchen. Okay, probably not.

For the sculpture to be realized, though, Brouwer needs ladders. If you're willing to lend a ladder, it'll be on view throughout the month of May in Freedom Park and returned promptly after the installation is finished. Details about how and when to lend your ladder after the jump.

Those interested in loaning a ladder can bring them to the collection site in Virginia Highlands:
