Loganville puts Sunday alcohol sales referendum on November ballot

And so it begins

Nope, Gov. Nathan Deal still hasn’t signed a bill that would allow cities and counties to ask voters to approve Sunday alcohol sales. But that ain’t stoppin’ Loganville, a place “Where People Matter.”

The Loganville City Council — which from now on will be referred to as The Wise and Supreme Council of Trailblazers™ — voted today to place the referendum on the November ballot. Via CBS Atlanta:

Loganville Mayor Ray Nunley told CBS Atlanta he has heard from numerous business owners who are anxious to get the referendum on the ballot, so city council moved forward quickly.

Nunley said the city can make tens of thousands of dollars in taxes if alcohol is sold on Sunday. The mayor said he personally will vote in favor of Sunday sales.

“If you don’t like the idea, vote ‘no,’” said Nunley.

And so it begins.
