Morning Newsdome: As if Trump wasn't bad enough, now Ron Paul explores a presidential bid

Posted By on Tue, Apr 26, 2011 at 11:04 AM

>> "Fat redneck" Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour announced he would not be running for president. Whew! Texas Congressman Ron Paul, on the other hand, just announced he's exploring a presidential bid. Damn. (Roll Call, Slate)

>> War eagle Sen. John McCain said he couldn't see how "U.S. or NATO military action would in any way beneficially help the situation" in Syria. Translation: There's no oil. (The Hill)

>> Rhode Island State Rep. Robert Watson said in February his state had its priorities right "if you are a Guatemalan gay man who likes to gamble and smokes marijuana." He also recently dismissed debate over marijuana decriminalization. Now Watson is facing charges for marijuana possession and driving under the influence after being stopped at a police checkpoint. Keeping the Rhode Island tradition of corruption alive. (AP)

>> Heterosexual marriage defenders in California filed a motion to repeal the overturning of Proposition 8 because U.S. District Judge Vaughn Walker is gay and in a relationship which they see as a conflict of interest. Of course, if he was hooking up at smoky gay bars every night with different young things, that wouldn't be a conflict of interest. (AP)

>> And finally, drunken housewives listen up! A California winery filed a suit claiming its "Mommyjuice" wine aimed at overworked mothers does not violate the trademark of "Mommy's Time Out" out of New Jersey. Don't these women know that good moms skip the wine and go straight for the pain killers? (Reuters)
