Trump is out for 2012
Trump’s not running for prez
Surprise! The Donald won’t run for president after all, he announced earlier today. As Trump explained in a statement, “business is my greatest passion and I am not ready to leave the private sector.” But here’s my favorite aside from the famously narcissistic millionaire:
I maintain the strong conviction that if I were to run, I would be able to win the primary and ultimately, the general election.
Lemme get this straight: The guy tells us he’s confident he could be the 45th President of the United States, but he’d rather do Season 12 of “Celebrity Apprentice?” A more jaded observer might theorize that Trump’s campaign talk was all part of a semi-calculated PR move to boost his TV ratings, improve his negotiating position with network execs and, of course, stroke his own brontosaurus-sized ego.
All I know is that this news is going to be heart-breaking for our own photography editor Joeff Davis, who recently offered his much-commented-on views on “Why America deserves President Trump.”
