Fahamu Pecou curates Home, a group show of emerging Georgia talent, at the Chastain Arts Center. Pecou wrote to CL earlier this week, saying, "As international, national and local politics become more and more the subject of pop culture discourse, I wanted to create an exhibit that presents a new awareness to how politics, education and culture are coming to redefine our home state of Georgia." Cosmo Whyte, Kombo Chapfika, and others are included. The reception gets started at 6 pm. More details at NBAF.

Barbara Archer exhibits New Roads, a collection of new works by Francis Pavy. The Louisiana-based artist combines oil painting and printmaking techniques to create multi-layered works of vibrant color and rhythm. The reception gets started at 7 pm. More details at Barbara Archer.

Atlanta-based painter Michelle Schuff shows Metronome, her latest body of work, at Whitespace. Using the time-keeping instrument as a metaphor for the rhythm and process of her painting, Schuff's "repeated painted lines/phrases/objects are meant to create a textured 'beat' and somehow through their pattern and regularity, generate an abstract field of color and sound." More details at Whitespace.

The Indie Craft Experience returns with two days of independently-produced arts and crafts to, uh, experience. In all seriousness, there will be many craft-makers and artists offering their wares throughout the weekend, alongside a few people who put birds on things. The event runs at Ambient Plus Studio from 11 am to 6 pm on Saturday and Sunday. More details at ICE.
