Zombies have been spotted in and around Atlanta, again.
Contrary to the popular opinion that they are an army of the hundreds of filmmakers rushing around shooting their 48 Hour FIlm Projects in Atlanta this weekend (disclosure, I'm the Atlanta City Co-Producer of this event, and CL is sponsoring), we have it on good authority that all the commotion is indeed the return to Georgia of the production of season two of the AMC hit series "The Walking Dead."
After shutting down a stretch of I-20 earlier in the week, the crew is moving to Cobb County "where they’ll be shooting a scene involving 'simulated gunfire as actors are confronted by a horde of zombies' at Cobb Parkway and Riverwood Parkway" according to the site On Location Vacations.
The report also includes a behind-the-scenes report of the production's "Zombie School" and information about the series' new toy line (MTV has "exclusive photos of the toys), set to launch when the season premieres this October.
Also featured, are links to the first official photos (click after the jump) for Season 2:
"Filming moves into town next Monday to a location across the street from my office building for more undead happiness. I’ll sneak some photos if I can manage it. And if this preview is any indication then the undead hotties are ready to party. I feel bad for these extras. The temps in Atlanta have been above 90 for 11 days and there is no sign of any relief."
Those too impatient to wait for season two, it is a long wait until October, can feed your hunger with this killer fan video—in the tradition of Don Draper Says What?—a montage of every zombie death from Season 1 of "Walking Dead":
