48film.jpg
The films have been watched, the votes tallied, and now the Audience Award finalists for the 48 Hour Film Project have been announced. On Thursday, July 7 at 7:30 p.m., Atlantans will get the chance to watch all eight film finalists and vote once again for their favorite from the list:

Audience Award Finalists (to be screened at the show):
The Chorus: ENGLISH GIRL
Fresh Dough: DOUGHY DOUGH & THE LOST MIC
FUGO Studios: BLINDED
Pillar to Post: BURIED
Pop Culture Architects: ACHIEVING REALITY
Thirty Toes Walking: TEN DOLLAR COVER
Vision Philms: INFANTITUS MUSTACHIUM
White Flame Studios: THE PRINCE'S PERFECT PARTY

The finalist screening will be followed by an awards ceremony, which will crown the audience favorite as well as give out awards for Best Writing, Editing, Sound Design and more. Finalists for jury prizes include:

Atlantasaurus Rex: ROTFD (ROLLING ON THE FLOOR...DYING!)
Automatic Improv!: HELPING HANDS
Bontrager Twins: BOY IN THE BOX
The Chorus: ENGLISH GIRL
End Boss: RED LIGHT RUNNERS
Fresh Dough: DOUGHY DOUGH & THE LOST MIC
FUGO Studios: BLINDED
Pillar to Post: BURIED
Running in Time: QUARTERS
SoKlor Productions: DISTILLED SPIRITS
White Flame Studios: PRINCE'S PERFECT PARTY

The screening and ceremony will be held at the Plaza Theatre and will be followed by a screening of all award-winning 48 Hour films at 9:45 p.m.

In case you've forgotten, or have never heard of the 48 Hour Film Project, all the films were written, shot, edited and scored in 48 hours. So if you're usually a big film snob, be sure to cut the participants a little slack (or don't, considering one of last year's films was at the Cannes Film Festival this year).
