>> The Obama administration has moved up the date of the debt ceiling decision from August 2 to July 22 in order for legislation to pass both chambers of Congress in time. I’m sure this made-up deadline has nothing to do with putting pressure on Republicans. (the New York Times)

>> Minnesota shut down last night due to a stalemate over the budget. Thousands of workers now face layoffs, road construction is at a standstill, but hey, former governor and presidential candidate Tim Pawlenty thinks it’s great! (CBS News)

>> Former IMF leader Dominique Strauss-Kahn will reportedly be released from his bail conditions today after his accuser’s credibility is being questioned. Knowing the French, they’ll pretend this incident never happened but are still talking about Monica Lewinsky. (CBS News)
