Praise be to Jesus: Doug Monroe's writing about Atlanta again

When Doug Monroe left Atlanta in 2007 to help shape students' minds in New York City, we all lost a little something.

Monroe, a humor-spittin' wordsmith and editor who's covered the city for the AJC, Atlanta Magazine and CL, had an encyclopedic knowledge and a sharp wit. In addition to pounding out great columns — "Monroe Doctrine" at Atlanta and "Humbug Square" for CL — he was also one of the city's most talented bloggers. (Not to mention one of yours truly's j-school professors. Blame him for my typos and unfinished thoughts.)

So we were thrilled to hear today that Monroe's taking a break from New York City for the summer and blogging at Atlanta. His first post was published today and includes references to Rupert Murdoch, Beverly Hall and the broken dreams of kiddos. Go say hello.
