>> In yesterday's recall elections in Wisconsin following the anti-union legislation passed in February, two of the six Republican state senators lost their seats to Democrats. Republicans still have a majority, though, and Democrats plan to recall Gov. Scott Walker from office next year. I'll never understand why people vote against their own interests. (Seattle Times)

>> More than 1,100 people have been arrested in the riots spreading across Britain. Prime Minister David Cameron said anyone convicted of violent disorder would go to prison, but it's becoming a strain on their legal system. Can't they just drink some tea and get along? (the Guardian)

>> Sure, we're potentially entering a double-dip recession, but it's damaging out lenders' economies too. We owe China about $2 trillion, and there's a real chance we won't be able to pay all of it back. One economist thinks China may topple the global financial situation on purpose because they're left with no other options. And that's how money ruins friendships, as if we were every friends with China. (Reuters)

>> Democratic Sen. Patty Murray of Washington, Max Baucus of Montana and John Kerry of Massachusetts have been appointed to the new "super committee" to reduce $1.2 trillion from the deficit by Nov. 23. Super Friends against the Legion of Debt! (National Journal)

>> And finally: Warren Jeffs, the 55-year-old polygamist leader of the fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ and Latter Day Saints in Utah, was convicted for child sex abuse and not eligible for parole until he is at least 100. Jeffs, who had sex with girls as young as 12, will probably lead his church from behind bars. Twenty bucks says this will make him even more of a martyr to his followers. (CBS News)
