>> While campaigning in Iowa, new presidential hopeful Rick Perry called Fed. Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke “treasonous,” a capital offense, for “printing more money to play politics.” Many Republicans thought calling for violence against a government official was “inappropriate and unpresidential,” but at least Bill Clinton thinks he’s a “good looking rascal.” (Think Progress, Twitter, Politicker)

>> BART, the Bay Area Rapid Transit agency in Northern California, is under fire for cutting off wireless service at stations during a protest last week against the fatal shooting by BART police. The ACLU said that they will not file a suit against BART, maybe because it’s not unconstitutional if “there is no right to free speech there.” Seriously? (CBS, Yahoo!)

>> In the single “most significant piece of evidence” in the News of the World hacking scandal, a 2007 letter from a staffer says phone hacking was “widely discussed” and the staffer was promised he’d keep his job if he didn’t say anything about it. Is that not normal conversation for a newspaper editorial meeting? (the Guardian)

>> The Huffington Post is under fire for crowdsourcing their new Politics logo. AntiSpec.com, the graphic design group against speculative projects, believes it devalues design work, saying, “The Huffington Post was bought by AOL for a reported $315,000,000 ... Plenty of cash on the table to hire a designer to create a logo.” If only writers had as much pride as designers. (AntiSpec.com, Poynter)

>> And finally: Zachery Tims, Jr., mega-church pastor from Orlando, Fla., was found dead in a Times Square hotel room yesterday morning with a “white powdery substance” in his pocket. But don’t worry God-fearing Americans: he previously had an affair with a female stripper, so he’s not gay. (the Wall Street Journal)
