"Warrior! Come out to play... at Sunday's preview!"

If you want to flee to an air-conditioned multiplex theater during your ClusterFest activities on Labor Day Weekend, Lionsgate will be presenting public sneak previews (i.e., you have to buy tickets) of Warrior, which looks to be a mixed-martial arts version of Rocky. Directed by Gavin O'Connor, Warrior depicts two brothers, a Marine veteran (Tom Hardy) and an ex-fighter-turned-teacher (Joel Edgerton), who each return to the ring and end up on a collision course. Hardy might be the biggest draw after his breakout role in Inception and upcoming turn as roided-out Batman villain Bane in next summer's The Dark Knight Rises. From the trailer, though, it looks like Australia's Edgerton (The Square, Animal Kingdom) plays the lead, with Hardy taking more of a supporting role. Nick Nolte plays the requisite crusty trainer. Warrior screens at 7 p.m. Sunday at such Atlanta-area theaters as Atlantic Station 16, Landmark Midtown Cinema 8, Parkway Pointe 15, and Hollywood 24.

By the way, if you want to see Tom Hardy beating the crap out of people, you should definitely check out his 2008 film Bronson, a surreal biopic of England's most crazily combative prison inmate. Bronson director Nicolas Winding Refn recently helmed the acclaimed noir Drive, which stars Ryan Gosling and is one of this fall's most eagerly anticipated films. Bronson is currently available on Netflix Watch Instantly. Here's a great sample:
