Most popular damn posts o' the week

Posted By on Sat, Sep 17, 2011 at 11:59 AM

Though not yet officially autumn, the weather's starting to feel like it. Which is a good thing! Summer in the South makes us do strange things, like steal hair extensions from beauty-supply stores. Before you chop up your furniture to use as firewood, take a moment and reflect on this week's most popular posts on Fresh Loaf, which every Saturday night listens to Montel Jordan while cruising through gas-station parking lots.

1. Two African-American men claimed that The Tavern at Phipps' "Southern Hospitality" policy — which, among other things, allegedly required black customers to give up their seats to white women — was racial discrimination. A federal jury didn't agree.

2. Just when the AJC earns our respect by sniffing out a cheating scandal and hounding Gov. Nathan Deal, it throws it all away. All over a comic strip about Sarah Palin.

3. Dragon*Con founder Ed Kramer has found himself in a bit of Cthulhu-sized trouble.

4. Carrollton, Ga., wants nothing to do with the Rocky Horror Picture Show. No, sir, they'll stick to Peter and the Wolf, thankyouverymuch.

5. The state's highest court upheld the murder convictions and life sentences handed to a Buckhead vegan couple whose son died.
