ASO season kicks off with Valkyries, Ludwig’s 9th and a contest of awesome
Symphony season begins this Thurs., Sept. 22
If we were to make a list of the most totally awesome people in town, Atlanta Symphony director Robert Spano and silky-voiced, Schubert-spinning WABE enchantress Lois Reitzes would obviously be right at the top. But who would take the Number One spot?
That seems to be the unspoken debate going on in the following promotional video for the up-coming 2011-2012 ASO season. On the surface, Reitzes and Spano are having a civil and engaged discussion about Elgar, piano concertos, and Bach’s St. Matthew Passion, but we think there’s really a silent battle raging underneath.
