Three armed robberies in two days in Inman Park

Accoring to Greg Scott, the Inman Park Neighborhood Association's VP of Public Safety, three armed robberies took place in Inman Park between Monday and Tuesday nights. All of them were committed by groups of hoodie-clad young men.

Here's Scott's description of the crimes (via Yahoo Groups):

There was indeed an armed robbery on Monday night at approximately 10:40 p.m. A young woman who was visiting a friend on Edgewood was locked out and on the phone when she was approached by two black males, both wearing hoodies and bandanas over their faces, who produced a silver handgun and took her purse and phone, and then fled in the direction of Hurt Street.

Maybe 10 to 15 minutes later, a male was on the corner of Moreland and Euclid talking on his phone when he was approached by, presumably, the same suspects (hoodies and bandanas) who pointed a silver handgun at him and took his wallet and phone. They fled to a small four door white or silver car, possibly a Mitsubishi.

This morning, I received word that there was an attempted armed robbery last night on Seminole. At approximately 11:50 p.m., a couple was walking to their car on Seminole, behind 448 Moreland, when three black males approached them with a silver handgun. The three were all wearing hoodies, 2 dark in color and one white. The couple was able to get in their car and drive off quickly before anything happened. The witnesses reported that the three men were in a silver or gray colored two-door vehicle with rims. Zone 6 officers swarmed the area looking for the car and suspects.

Scott says the police have "allocated extra resources" to prevent similar armed robberies. But, still. Be careful.
