Will Atlanta Dream Player Angel McCoughtry's (@angel_35) Dream Come True?

For the other 99% (AKA those of us who don't follow the WNBA):

The Dream, Atlanta's WNBA Team made it to the Championship Finals (yaaay!) only to be swept by the Minnesota Lynx (boooo!):

Apparently, this is the second year in a row the Dream were swept in the WNBA finals. (Who knew?!)

As disappointing as back-to-back finals sweeps must be, Dream star Angel McCoughtry now faces an additional set-back.

Her campaign on Kickstarter-like crowdfunding site ifundie to raise $20,000 for a documentary of her life fell $18,354 (!) shy of the goal.

Here's additional footage from the shoot:

The project seems worthwhile:

From humble beginnings in Baltimore, to a succesful basketball career with the WNBA's Atlanta Dream, Angel McCoughtry is a proven example that hard work, perseverance and faith will ultimately lead dreams being fufilled.

This documentary provides a unique illustration of a determined individual who took each obstacle and turned them into opportunity. As a professional female athlete she possesses a natural ability to lead and a characteristic like this should be put on display for all to see.

Even though the iFundie links are closed, and there is nothing on Angel's Web site about the film, maybe it's not too late to give.

Reach out to her on the Web site and make an offer.

If everyone who attended the WNBA finals at Philips Arena on October 7th paid $1, she'd be $11,543 closer to her goal!

If everyone who reads this blog paid $18,354, she'd also meet her goal.
