One week until Sunday sales vote!

Posted By on Tue, Nov 1, 2011 at 7:42 PM

Here at CL, we've got our priorities straight — as in Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey!

Yes, we're totally psyched over the thought of being allowed to buy corn squeezin's on the Sabbath like the rest of civilized America. In fact, if the public referendum is approved next Tuesday, Nov. 8 — mark it on your calendar — many Georgia communities will become slightly more liberal than Tennessee, which only allows beer and wine sales on Sunday.

And if the referendum passes, we won't need to wait long — we'll be able to shop the beer aisle at our local grocery store as early as New Year's Day, which just happens to fall on a Sunday.

Remember, the only thing that stands in the way of brushing aside this most outdated of state laws is apathy. We need you to go to the polls on Tuesday. Do it for the children.

Oh, and there will be other things to vote on, such as school board candidates and a questionable school tax referendum about which I will be writing more in the next few days. Salut!
