ATLwood: Vampires, Zombies and Kardashians (Oh My!)

Kim K, headed to the A

The most action-packed ATLwood yet! Hold on to your hats, we've got vampires, zombies and Kardashians (oh my! ... Yeah, I went with that joke twice. I have no regrets). Plus a former President and a guy who might play one, and the outing of a formerly ~secret Disney film. Honestly all of this sounds like a great idea for a movie ...

— Keeping up with Kim Kardashian? She has landed! Even though she's disliked by many Tyler Perry fans, she arrived on set Wednesday for her role in his film The Marriage Counselor. Yes, irony is alive and well! Filming has been taking place in the Highlands and along Decatur Street (near Moore Street SE). The movie also features Brandy Norwood, Ella Joyce & Jerry Stiller.

— For those of you who attended the Twilight: Breaking Dawn event at the Buckhead Theatre Monday night, have you been able to catch your collective breaths yet? How was it? Ashley Greene, Jackson Rathbone and Nikki Reed were in attendance to continue Twilight's tour of world domination.

— More vampire news: "The Vampire Diaries" has been filming in a house in Conyers, GA, off of 138 …

— You know what? Forget it - vampires are SO last year. It's all about zombies now: Wednesday "The Walking Dead" filmed on Elders Mill Road and Deep South Road to Rock House Road in Senoia, and set up on Hwy 20, outside of Atlanta. The great Walking Dead Locations website also has a nifty Locations map set up for filming, so check it out!

— Support Georgia-made films! The first trailer for the Jennifer Aniston-Paul Rudd comedy Wanderlust is now online.

— The Denzel Washington flick Flight filmed around St. Josephs Hospital this week. The movie is an action-adventure thriller also starring John Goodman, Melissa Leo (wait … is this Season One of "Treme"??) and Don Cheadle (ok not quite. But I still like ya, Don).

— Another event this week I'm hoping some of you went to: former President Bill Clinton was at the Barnes & Noble in the Edgewood shopping center on Thursday signing copies of his latest book. No count yet of how many middle-aged women showed up in blue dresses (I kid, I kid! There was a count. I kidddd!)

— Tuesday the Billy Crystal film (yes, host of the 2012 Oscars, Billy Crystal. Sadly not the Muppets. Haters gonna hate) Parental Guidance (formerly "Call Me Artie," "Us & Them") filmed at the International School, and also headed to Turner Field this week.

— The secret Disney TV movie "Until We Meet Again" has been fillming on Whitlock Avenue in

— Another original TV movie, (this time from MTV), “My Super Psycho Sweet 16 Part 3” is currently filming in Atlanta, and will air in early 2012 (sounds like a party!)

— For TV shows from local celebs, "T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle" is filming in town now, and will debut on December 5th on VH1. Also, Fox 5 Atlanta is adding Steve Harvey’s new talk show to its fall roster.

— More local talent news: The web series "Osiris" has been shot and produced locally, so check it out!

— A little bit out of town, but the National Geographic Network will be taping an episode of, “America’s National Treasures,” in Savannah on December 5th.

— Finally, Mario Van Peebles was spotted at the BronzeLens Film Festival on Thursday night (as covered here).

Have any tips? Sightings? Encounters? Filming news? Drop me a line: or send me a tweet @FlossyAlli on Twitter (don't forget to use the hashtag #ATLwood)!
