Herman Cain on Libya will make you wish you never crawled out of bed

Posted by Thomas Wheatley on Tue, Nov 15, 2011 at 9:07 AM

The former talk radio host and pizza company CEO has been having a difficult few weeks. But this is just rough. Rough.

Cain's spokesman told the Guardian that the candidate was running on little sleep. Good thing he's still on message.

""Some people want to say as a President you're supposed to know everything-no you don't." Cain stressed that because he is a businessman, he is a much more deliberate "decision maker.""

Yes, making decisions is a primary responsibility for a President. Decisions like: "I think I'll postpone this interview because I haven't had enough sleep. In my sleepless state, I don't want to end up sounding like that crazy old drunk guy who's rambling on about random stuff to Waffle House employees at 2am."

Wow this is truly pathetic. How the fuck is this guy qualified to lead our nation?

What Cain needs is perhaps some fair reporting...

Everybody makes mistakes but only left leaners have such selective morals

He's smart enough to govern all 57 states.

Really, when I heard about this I expected much worse than I saw. Pete a piece of tape is pretty fair. A question was asked. He answered. You can't blame it on the Obamedia. You know the scribe was chubbin' up, though. "I got him! I got him! Oh man wait until I get this out."

It will be Romney.

What all 57 states huh....wow I thought he was smarter than that, I love his constant stuttering more and pattern froming circular logic....

Wow 57 states huh? he said that - man I bet it was all over the mornig news shows! I bet David Gregory, Matt lauer, Ann Curry had a feild day of unending stories on that! Wait no you say? Not even a mention.....that is sad to me - hmmmm selective call outs - nah - no bias there....party on peaceful OWS protestors!

I'd have more respect if he just said "What?! Next question." But because he's such tried and true republican, he babbled on like an idiot, knowing he could just blame the "liberal media." Same reason he lied about making payments to his sexual harassment victims.

Do yall just wanna run Ronald McDonald or Ann Coulter instead?

Obama and Biden and other democrats both have just as many brain farts and freezes as as the other guys.

Cain's gaffe is less embarrassing than the one I linked.

Ronald McDonald IS a successful businessman, bloodgimp. I think it's a sure bet.

"Cain's gaffe is less embarrassing than the one I linked."

HA! Really?

It's almost like he thinks Libya is the name of a lady he may or may not have touched on the boobies.
He had to be led by the interviewer into "Libya is a place? Stuff has recently happened there?"

The most embarrassing thing for the republicans should be how well Obama executed the Libya military aid vs. the horrible execution of Iraq by George W. Bush. And the laughable flip flopping by the Republicans on the Libya conflict.

SEE WHAT HAPPENS when you know what the F*ck you're doing and you don't run in and tell your partners and the internal opposition forces to shut up cause you're not interested in what they have to say, unless its yes.

In fairness he stumbled because he can't criticize Obama on Libya but he also can't say he isn't critical - so it doesn't fall into the neat talking points he remembered for his radio show.

Anyway who cares its just foreign policy, we got an electric fence we need to build!!!

If foreign policy becomes a central issue in this race the Republicans are in trouble.

Obama... caught Osama, Libya ... Check, Egypt ... Check, Out of Iraq.... Check.
Bush... squandered funds and lives based on a lie in Iraq....Check, Bush caught the leader of the 9/11 terrorist attacks...NOT.

Yeah Libya and Iraq were exactly the same thing and the same problem. And Egypt is some sort of Obama victory. And Cain pausing to collect his thoughts is way more stupid looking than Obama floundering for lots longer in front of a town hall. Things are different here in Progresso land.

you're still committing grave sins against the great god Personal Responsibility by equivocating

they do it too! waaaah! gotcha media!

why can't you just admit that cain fucked up without feebly trying to explain how liberals are the real fools. is it because you lack any and all sense of self-criticism?

"Yeah Libya and Iraq were exactly the same thing and the same problem."

i do kind of agree with dave here, there was absolutely no reason for us to pursue action in iraq. thank god obama didn't decide to waste billions of dollars and thousands of lives in a pointless desert crusade

"Things are different here in Progresso land."

yeah, welcome to a place where you actually have to back up your empty statements with new concepts such as facts, proof, and evidence

once you get the hang of it it's not that hard but it'll be rough at first actually making sure you say things that cohere to reality

Posted by eric pfeifer on 11/15/2011 at 5:59 PM

i mean really dave this isn't a 'brain freeze' this is about a solid minute of cain realizing that he has no idea how to answer the question, but then he makes a gallant effort anyway based on his vague islamophobia

it's funny that cain doesn't know if the opposition was assessed but he is certain that he would have done a better job than obama

that's basically his platform in summary. i don't know what obama does, but i know i can do it better
