Atlanta PlanIt, GPC offer a free art treasure hunt

Adventure junkies and art lovers, I have good news. Atlanta PlanIt and Georgia Perimeter College’s Department of Fine Arts have teamed up to give away one free piece of artwork every day until Dec. 13. The catch? You’re going to have to do a little work to find it.

Created by Georgia Perimeter College students, the artwork, which includes paintings, sculptures and photographs, will be hidden in a different arts-related location everyday, with the exception of Thanksgiving, Black Friday and all Sundays except for Dec. 11. WonderRoot, Atlanta Ballet and Georgia Shakespeare are just a few of the places you’ll have to search if you’re hoping to expand your art collection. The first person to find it during the available hours gets the honor of hanging it on their wall at home (or office. Or bathroom, for that matter. Honestly, you can put it wherever you want.)

If you want to get your Indiana Jones on, you just need to check Atlanta PlanIt for that day’s location. You’ll also need to pull up that listing on your smartphone or have a printed copy to show the folks at the door. There was a piece by Stan Harris at the Horizon Theatre today, but it’s already been claimed. You’ll have to be quicker in the future. Check out some of the art up for grabs after the jump.
