Do not put it past him. Reports the Chattanooga Times Free Press:
Geography data in the 2010 census shows the Peach State's land area is nearly 400 square miles smaller than it was in 2000."Did we throw ourselves in the dryer or something? I don't know," said Georgia Sen. Jeff Mullis, R-Chickamauga. "I'm amazed that that statistic is out there."
On the 2000 census, Georgia's land area came in at 57,906.14 square miles. Recently released figures from the 2010 census show 392.65 fewer square miles, at 57,513.49.
The likely culprit, the U.S. Census Bureau tells the paper, is improved technology which allows researchers to better measure the width of streams, rivers and lakes.
Nice try, census people. How will Georgia lawmakers respond to this land grab by Washington, D.C., hmmmmm?

Shouldn't micro-meteorites more than make up for any lost land mass?
I think them fuckin' Tennesseans took it. That's why we need to take their water.
Global warming, higher sea level and more violent storms have carved out river channels and barrier islands.
but surely we're making it back in all those nice ruddy little islands appearing in the middle of Puddle Lanier?
