Alliance Theatre casts 'Carnage' & 'County'

The Alliance Theatre has announced the casts for two of its big shows of 2012: the Tony-Award winning play God of Carnage and the world premiere musical Ghost Brothers of Darkland County by Stephen King and John Mellencamp, with music direction by T Bone Burnett.

God of Carnage depicts a dispute between a pair of upper middle class parents over their children's behavior and will be directed by Kent Gash. This will be the first production with an all African-American cast, including includes Jasmine Guy as Veronica Novak, Keith Randolph Smith as Michael Novak, Crystal Fox as Annette Raleigh, and Geoffrey Darnell Williams as Alan Raleigh. God of Carnage plays Jan. 11-27 (coinciding with the Atlanta release of Roman Polanski's film version).

With performances scheduled to begin on April 4 under the direction of Susan V. Booth, Darkland County stars Tony-winning Atlanta native Shuler Hensley and Tony nominee Emily Skinner, along with:

Blues musician and film actor Jake La Botz; Broadway star and recording artist Justin Guarini (Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown; American Idiot); actor and writer Lucas Kavner; actor and songwriter Kate Ferber (One Child Born: the Music of Laura Nyro); stage and screen actor Christopher Morgan; and Country Music favorite Dale Watson. Additional cast members include - Peter Albrink; Kylie Brown; Lori Beth Edgeman; Gwen Hughes; Joe Jung; Joe Knezevich; Rob Lawhon; Royce Mann; and Travis Smith.
