Posted by Joeff Davis on Sun, Nov 27, 2011 at 8:59 AM

The Georgia Bulldogs beat the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 31-17 yesterday in front of 55,000 crazed fans at Bobby Dodd Stadium in Atlanta. The 13th-ranked Bulldogs bested the No. 25 Yellow Jackets in a fight to determine the best college football team in Georgia. The Bulldogs will now face LSU, the No.1 ranked team in the nation, next Saturday at the Georgia Dome for the Southeastern Conference championship.

Georgia did play very well and was very focused. It hurts to say this as a tech fan but i hope georgia beats top ranked lsu to save college football from a rematch of the feild goal fest.

tech fans, and tech players, would do well to cultivate an appreciation for the immaculate defenses that LSU and Bama bring. How their game is any less interesting than a big XII vertical pass attack shootout to a football fan is beyond me.

Go Dawgs, though. ;)

Yeah, that's easy, zedsmith. it's the same reason people don't like well-played soccer matches. The general public doesn't recognize good defense, but they sure see all those touchdowns (goals). So, really, it shouldn't be beyond you, unless a lot of normal things are beyond you.

I don't know what kinds of soccer matches people like to see, but I'm betting "soccer fans" like to see good soccer being played, same as football fans. As for the general public— maybe should occupy themselves with some bright colors and tinsel.
