A quiet week in ATLwood, no doubt the result of a little holiday hangover. Still, while some production sets are calling it a wrap and folding up their tents, even more are hoisting them high!
First, the sightings:
— Celebrities, they eat! Just like us! (Well, some of them) Jonah Hill dined at Bluefin on Peachtree this week.
— Nathan Lane is now in town, where he'll be spending the next two weeks filming a comedy pilot for USA called "On We Go." ("The single-camera comedy stars Nathan Lane as a struggling Broadway actor who looks like Lane but isn't, and who puts his career on hold to move back to Texas to care for his ailing dad. Cheyenne Jackson and Ken Jenkins [Scrubs] also star").
Now for some filming updates:
— Ben Stiller's film Neighborhood Watch will be filming at BJ's in Norcross through the beginning of next week.
— Production crews for Billy Crystal's flick Parental Guidance, have been spending a lot of time around the First Baptist Church on Peachford Rd in Dunwoody recently.
— The A&E miniseries "Coma" continues filming in Castleberry Hills.
— The Denzel picture "Flight" (with John Goodman, Melissa Leo and William H. Macy) was filming in the downtown Atlanta last week, as spotted by CL's Ed Adams when Peachtree was blocked off. Did anyone get a chance to check it out? Filming will wrap at the end of this week, so keep an eye out while you can!
— FYI: "House of Payne" is filming at Tyler Perry Studios.
— Until We Meet Again (a.k.a. Let it Shine), "a Disney Channel original movie, recently filmed scenes in Glover Park and at the Strand Theater on the Marietta Square, while the nearby First United Methodist Church served as the production's base camp. Filming also took place at the 1010 Midtown building in Atlanta. The movie, a modern day teenage Cyrano de Bergerac tale set in the world of gospel music and hip-hop."
— Game of Your Life, formerly known as Gamers, the computer-themed drama that filmed in Georgia earlier this year (including at SCAD Atlanta) will air tonight on NBC, so check it out and support Georgia filmmaking!
