Weekend Arts Agenda: Sandler Hudson

Susan Loftin and Mario Petrirena at Sandler Hudson, more than a hundred artists at Ponce Crush, and more. Details after the jump.

Free Art Friday returns. Keep your eyes out around town for work looking to be adopted by Evereman, Kenn Twofour, Catlanta, and others. Follow #FAFATL for the best hints.

Jennifer Schwartz exhibits new photographs by Lori Vrba. The exhibition, Southern Comfort, "an installation component, similar to the one that captured the hearts of many in New Orleans last December for PhotoNOLA." More details at Jennifer Schwartz.

Mario Petrirena, The Last One with the Memory

Sandler Hudson hosts an opening reception for two new exhibitions: Mario Petrirena a poem, a fable, a rumor and Susan Loftin — Clink/Clank Percussion Platform. Loftin's interactive installation will be in the small gallery, where the "artist encourages the viewer to walk through the installation, altering the clay tiles as they go. The sound becomes as much a part of the piece as the tiles." More details at Sandler Hudson.

Ponce Crush returns with three group shows featuring more artists than we can count, but we're going to try, anyway. Young Blood has work from 50+ artists, Beep Beep has work from 40 artists, and Kibbee has an undisclosed number of artists contributing work to their group show. So, ballpark guess, there are like a hundred artists showing work for Ponce Crush. The work will also be "small" and "affordable" for the "holidays." More details at Ponce Crush.
