Officials with the former brownfield turned mixed-use development announced the multi-year deal this afternoon alongside Mayor Kasim Reed at Strip. Former U.S. Open Champion Andy Roddick, John Sock, and John Isner have already agreed to play in the tournament, which is the opening event in the U.S Open Series season.
According to the deal, the park area in the heart of Atlantic Station's retail district would be temporarily turned into "center court" with grandstands that will seat 4,000 fans. Two other competition courts will be built one block away within view of I-75/85, the same area where past special events such as Cirque du Soleil have set up shop.
After the jump you'll find renderings of what the area will look like during the tournament. And a photo of Santa Claus playing tennis in the park area with one of his slaves elves.

I love the attention to detail: nobody is watching tennis OR shopping at Atlantic Station.
I'll actually have been there twice today though— once to visit CL for free tickets, and once to redeem them. The Bing Crosby positively booms out of those little green speakers.
