North Atlanta High School student Monserrat Urbano is missing

Posted by Thomas Wheatley on Wed, Dec 21, 2011 at 5:09 PM

Steve Renner, the owner of Woody's Famous Philadelphia Cheesesteaks in Virginia-Highland, writes on Facebook that Monserrat Urbano, the 16-year-old daughter of one of his employees, has been missing since yesterday afternoon. He writes:

One of our very own at Woody's Cheesesteaks needs your help and prayers. His daughter, a 16 year-old student at North Atlanta High School, was last seen as she exited her school bus at her apartments in Buckhead (Atlanta, GA). She never made it home. Due to her age, the Atlanta Police Department / City of Atlanta Police Department is unable to help until 24 hours have passed. I have shared the story with WSB-TV and FOX 5 Atlanta and CBS Atlanta and am hopeful for movement on this story soon! This would not be as scary except she is never in trouble, has no car, no boyfriend, is well behaved, and well liked. Help us find Monserrat Urbano.

If you see Urbano or have any information, call the Atlanta Police Department.

UPDATE, 12/22/12, 12:02 p.m. Renner says Urbano has returned home.

Thanks CL for giving this coverage. I have shared this and its sad this young lady doesn't fit the missing white woman profile that the mainstream media loves.

According to Facebook (her N Atlanta classmates), she was at a friend's house...has this been confirmed? Praying for her safety, and praying for her father's patience if she was in fact at a friend's house this entire time.

Steven Renner's FB page says the family was reunited - good news indeed.

If she was at a friends house the whole time that's probably an example of why the police need to follow the 24 hour rule. Also if true sounds like someone's gonna be grounded for a while.
