Start the new year the same way you ended 2011: by drinking!
Yes, at 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 1, Atlanta will join the growing list of Georgia cities and counties which allow gas stations, bottle shops, and grocery stores to sell alcohol on Sundays.
Once you've slept off all the boxed wine you guzzled while listening to Kansas at the Peach Drop (?!?), venture to the nearest store and pick up a bottle of... what the hell do y'all drink anyways?
Please celebrate this bold new chapter in Atlanta's history responsibly.

Is the St. Pauli girl going to be at Green's? Will a giant tequilla worm be playing the Sauzaphone at Tower? What are the liquor stores around town doing to celebrate this momentous occasion?
They didn't want it...fought it tooth and nail.
If you're going to Tower, be sure to get a Tower card for the rotating specials. Sam Adams is getting expensive. And they regularly have St. Pauli Girl girls, tequila girls, vodka girls, etc. What I need is a good absinthe girl.
The liquor stores will be complaining that the government (by way of the voters) just allowed them a 14% larger opportunity to make money.
Viva freedom (now available at 12:30pm!)
The enterprising korean family that runs my local vice den are going to be there, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. I have yet to meet one of these grumbling 6 day salesmen in person, though I think I recognize the dude from the windward pkwy bev mart on some of the local news coverage. What an ingrate.
Wow, is that the Tower on Piedmont or Buford Hwy?! The one at Memorial/Moreland rarely has any fun promotions.
Nothing like a sense of optimism at our impending demise for than hearing a rousing rendition of "Dust in the Wind" as we ring in the New Year.
This should tie the article together quite nicely:

The ghetto Tower on Moreland doesn't have squat. The Tower on the Byuf in Doraville is the absolute best beer and liquor store in town. Sometimes in there you can't turn around without bumping a hot pants clad tequila chiquita or a statuesque Nordic vodka girl in impossible heels. I'm a beer guy so they work hard to convert me. It's fun.
