Photo of the Day: Fire hazard

Fire breathers, flame swallowers, and dancers glowed under the half moon on the eve of the new year at The Art of Such n Such New Years Gathering. Held at sculptor Charlie Smith's studio, guests experienced visuals by Evereman, George Long, The Funk Pirates, and many more. Charlie's giant metal sculptures, the "Firebirds of the Fifth Direction," spewed flames into the night sky and kept guests plenty warm.

Musical acts included The Mule Skinner McQueen Trio and DJs Scot-o-Matic & CSX. The Back Pockets played a short set whose finale erupted perfectly at the stroke of midnight.

Art of Such and Such describe themselves as "a collaborative experiment. The Vision is to create an art space involving the viewer in a participatory way, breaking the boundaries between the art, the artists, and the participants who enter the space."
