Mayor Kasim Reed today followed through on his promise to release the names of evaluators who decided which restaurants and retail outlets would set up shop in Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Such a disclosure is a first in the airport's history.
Airport General Manager Louis Miller looked for expertise and experience when selecting the evaluators, who are all Department of Aviation employees. Each evaluator underwent a background check to determine possible conflicts of interest, which Reed called another first. Via the mayor's office:
§ Patricia Armes - Concessions Accounting Manager
§ Paul Brown - Concessions Director
§ Shelley Lamar - Planning Manager
§ Paul Michael Leaf Jr. - Principal Architect
§ Robert Lewis III - Concessions Compliance Manager
§ William Murphy - Land & Property Utilization Manager
§ Robert Palmer - Director of Maintenance
§ Willie Self - Senior Audit Manager
§ David Sellers - Director of Properties
§ Douglas Strachan - Creative Innovations Manager
§ Hugh Jason Terreri - Airport Contract Administrator
§ David Vogt - Art Program Manager
§ Harland Chris Warner - Operations Manager
§ Chiquetta West - Management Analyst
§ Demetria Wideman - Concession Marketing Manager
Reed promised early on in the procurement process to release the evaluation committee members' names but backtracked several weeks later. The mayor later said the names would be released once the Atlanta City Council approved the contracts and he signed the legislation. The disclosures were further delayed to give the mayor's office enough time to notify evaluators.
Let the research begin! Let us know if anything stands out. But please, be civil.

Does releasing relevant information after the fact demonstrate the same unfortunate timing as locking the barn door after the horses are out?
This is embarrassing for the city. Rappers fighting over airport locations.

The worst deal Atlanta and Patricia Armes or "Pat" could have made would be the Lenyln (ICE) deal... for pete sakes the company doen't even have a toll free number here in the US, only branch locations.....
Travelex must have pissed off Pat (and I know her personally met her while she was working at C A One Services) to not get a high recommendation from her...
Also her connection to C A One Services (Delware North) as well as seems a bit on the shady side considering C A One Services operates retail and restaurants at some major US airports including LAX, DFW, and Denver International... but has no presences here at ATL, so wondering how many of the restaurants that won concessions are connected to her former employer???
