"30 Rock" returns with new time, new real-world twists

If you're looking forward to the beginning of "30 Rock's" sixth season — and why wouldn't you be? — it begins tonight, Jan. 12 in its new 8 p.m. timeslot. NBC has posted a four-minute preview of the show's upcoming episodes, which contains some quick, funny bits involving Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin. The short avoids mentioning how "30 Rock" will address two pertinent real-world events: actor Tracey Morgan's homophobic rant from last June and the Dec. 17 death of North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Il, played in cameo by part-time Atlantan Margaret Cho. My favorite tidbit from the preview is the news that "Flight of the Conchords" Kirsten Schaal will be donning an NBC page jacket as a new regular:

"30 Rock" now serves as a lead-in to "Parks & Recreation," which returns tonight from winter hiatus. The arc of Leslie Knope running for city council should resonate amusingly with the 2012 presidential election. The Vulture has assembled a fun Leslie Knope campaign ad:
