Finalists announced for 2012 Townsend Prize

Atlantans Josh Russell, Lynn Cullen, Collin Kelly, and others are among the finalists shortlisted for the 2012 Townsend Prize. The biennial award is given to a novel or short story collection by a Georgia writer. Past winners include Alice Walker's The Color Purple, Ha Jin's The Bridegroom: Stories, and most recently Kathryn Stockett's The Help.

The award ceremony will be held on Thurs., April 26, at the Day Room of the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, with none other than Ann Beattie on hand to give the keynote address.
