Outwrite bookstore's last event at 10th and Piedmont location

Outwrite bookstore will be holding the last author reading at its current location, dubbed the "Last tango at Piedmont and 10th" on Tuesday Jan. 24. Outwrite, a LGBT bookstore in the heart of midtown, has been at its current location for 15 years.

Owner Phillip Rafshoon announced the store would be moving from its current location late last year in November, citing the space's high rent and the economic downturn as the main factors for the relocation. While Rafshoon is still looking for a new space for the store, he is optimistic that he will have a new space sometime in February.

Authors scheduled to read at Outwrite during its 'last tango' include: Hollis Gillespie, Don Perryman, Karen Head, Mose Hardin, Collin Kelley, Daniel Helminiak (who was recently nominated for the Townsend Prize for his novel Remain in Light) with Franklin Abbot hosting the event.

Rafshoon has also announced that there will be some surprise guests as well.

Outwrite is located at 991 Piedmont Ave, Atlanta Ga, 30309.
