Herman Cain endorses Newt Gingrich after first giving American people his nod of approval

Posted by Thomas Wheatley on Mon, Jan 30, 2012 at 10:00 AM

Not cool, Herman. After going all TIME Magazine on the country and endorsing "the people," renowned foreign-policy expert and former American Gladiator Herman Cain says he'll support Newt Gingrich in the Republican presidential nomination.

Cain made the announcement on Saturday night at a West Palm Beach County GOP event. CBS News reports:

"I had it in my heart and mind a long time ago" to endorse Gingrich, Cain said in a surprise appearance at the dinner. "Speaker Gingrich is a patriot, Speaker Gingrich is not afraid of bold ideas, and I also know that Speaker Gingrich is ... going through this sausage grinder. I know what this sausage grinder is all about. I know that he's going through this sausage grinder because he cares about the future of the United States of America."

We hope Cain at least convinced Gingrich to consider the former pizza company CEO for a secretary of state appointment. [Insert your favorite Uz-beki-beki/Libya joke here.]

I almost feel sorry for Newt. I caught a glimpse of one of those brief talking heads bits with the Anchor and 2 commentators and when the person representing the Republican panelist pummels Newt to a degree that leaves the Democratic panelist speechless it just make me think there is some heavy duty establishment pressure going on.

And though Newt isn't born out of the TParty movement its interesting how their darlings, Palin, Cain, support Newt yet the Bush Republicans can pummel Newt and apparently not worry about backlash from that side of the base.

Newt is a complete ego-manic! He thinks he is so so clever and smart; The outsider! The candicate who before I went to congress was a poor professor, but now post congress is somehow a multimillionaire (hmmmh...but K street had nothing do do with this!)

That is such a f'ing joke.

Wow, the GOP has really scraped the bottom of the barrel this year to come up with their field of presidential contenders. No reasonable person at this point should place any value whatsoever on the opinion and judgment of Herman Cain, who had to make an early exit from the race solely as a result of his involvement in a multitude of embarrassing scandals.

Newt is the Repub Obama. An arrogant, narcissistic college professor who has no business near the reins of power.

I look forward to both of them returning to academia.

I don't jump the shark...I hump the shark.

I don't care what he does as long as it's back in Chicago. Maybe the Ballet Dancer will get him a gig.

I predict after he loses today, Newt will become even more smarmy and petulant. I'll give you one thing, The Bamster isn't smarmy. He's smooooth. BUT:

"Obama has more empathy and understanding of life "

No...he's cold and aloof. Nothing from the gut. It's all an intellectual exercise to him. Course that's just the vibe I get. Who knows what lurks....
