ATLwood: STK is best for celeb STalKing

Posted by Allison Keene on Fri, Feb 17, 2012 at 9:54 AM

— The AJC's Jennifer Brett reports that Charlie Sheen was in Atlanta this week with Denise Richards and their kids (Denise is in town filming for Tyler Perry's latest Madea movie). The two have been staying in Buckhead, where Charlie was seen running an errand looking "thin but low-key, pleasant and soft-spoken."

On her blog, Denise details her airport style when traveling to and from ATL. Do you think she travels Southwest?

Other celeb sightings this week including John Travolta (who, despite filming in Rabun county has spent a lot of time in town, mostly around Buckhead sporting a seriously unfortunate chin strap that is part of his portrayal of a Serbian character), and a bevy of folks at STK in Midtown, such as "actor Mehcad Brooks (”Necessary Roughness”), rapper Nas, Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton and 'Vampire Diaries' cast members Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder."

— Looking to walk onto (or at least nearby) "The Walking Dead's" production sets? The Google Map of filming locations has been updated.

— Macon city officials have confirmed that there is a strong possibility scenes from the new Clint Eastwood film, “Trouble with the Curve,” may be filmed at Luther Williams Field in Macon sometime next month. The movie will star Eastwood as an aging sports scout who tries to mend fences with his estranged daughter while on a baseball recruiting trip. Amy Adams and Justin Timberlake are set to co-star.

Doris Roberts leaves Atlanta this week and says, via her Facebook page, "Just finished filming 3 weeks in Atlanta for a Tyler Perry movie called "Madea's Witness Protection"! Had a GREAT time working with my co-stars Eugene Levy, Denise Richards, and of course the fabulous Madea! It's always tough to say goodbye at the end of the film but I'd like to think it's not goodbye, it's see you soon!"

— A "Love and Hip-Hop" update: it looks like the show will star rapper Rasheeda, former Crime Mob rapper Diamond and singer Nivea. Possible replacements for the show may include Waka Flocka's mother Deb Antney and Rici, who was a former associate of Block Entertainment." Filming is already underway.

— Last week "Teen Wolf" filmed in Decatur (well, Unincorporated Dekalb County if I'm properly representing my hood) at the now closed Briarcliff High School (more recently known as Dekalb Alternative School).

— Finally, it seems Atlanta's own Butch Walker is getting a documentary.
