Creative Loafing screens ATL Short Cuts Film Contest finalists

At 7 p.m. tonight, Creative Loafing presents the 10 finalists of this year's ATL Short Cuts Film Contest. Local filmmakers took a five-minute length restriction and the theme of the Atlanta music scene, and delivered a lively line-up that reflects the diversity of Atlanta's community of musicians and their fans. For a sneak preview of this evening's show, here's the line-up of the finalists, in alphabetical order:

"BreFontaine: Jet Set Radio" (Bright Elephant Films)
"Goal-Tender of the Orchestra" (Tim Redman)
"Composing the Decameron" (Shannon Stewart and Drew Mobley)
"5 Things Today" (Brian Lambert)
"40,000 Lights" (Eran Gorell)
"i film bands good" (Lear Bunda and David Matysiak)
"Ricky Kendall: Ozark Country Blues" (Twin Lens Productions)
"Spine Unwind" (James Schroder, Jay Williams and Daniel Pederson)
"Sweet Charlene" ("A small yet committed team of Atlantans")
"UNDEREXPOSED: Indie Hip-Hop in Atlanta" (W. Feagins Jr.)

The two Critics Choice winners will be announced at the end of tonight's screening, while viewers will have the chance to vote for their Viewers Choice favorites on-line beginning March 2. All four films will be screened at the Atlanta Film Festival, and the first-place winners will also receive tickets to Bonnaroo and more. Admission is free.
